This touching memorial to a young slave boy who died on arrival in Lancashire always tugs at the heart strings. His lonely grave on one side of Sunderland Point sounds like a solitary place to have been laid to rest. In reality young Sambo has one of the loveliest places. The grave is surrounded by fields, the open waters of Morecambe Bay and is in one of the quietest and most serene places anyone could wish to be. It certainly is one of my top 5 places to visit if you want to get away from everything.

Thank you for keeping up with my ‘travels’ this year. Your comments and support is always much appreciated.

Very best wishes to everyone for 2013 :-) x
